EMERGENCY NEWS CORONAVIRUS SITUATION

6th April 2020 Dear Curler,

I hope that you and loved ones are all safe and well.

Under the present circumstances our AGM is postponed. At our AGM we propose and second the new committee for the coming season, in light of the unprecedented situation with Coronavirus I would like to seek your approval that we go ahead and confirm our new committee at this time via e mail as this will allow us to move on with arrangements for next season. Fergus steps down as past President and Lisa has indicated that she does not wish to continue on committee at present.

The proposed new committee is as follows:

President - Richard Stokes

V President -

Secretary - Susan Forrest

Treasurer - Alasdair Miller

Committee - Jimmy Lochridge, Linn Munton, David Cunningham

At present we haven’t been able to get books audited but will get them attended to when lockdown is lifted. We are also planning on keeping subscriptions at same level as last year.

For season 2020/21 Greenacres ice rink is changing the way it collects its membership dues.

Instead of individually they are proposing that it is paid via member’s curling club.

I have been given a pro forma to fill in declaring members, their playing status, contact details and membership dues. (Full name, address, telephone and e mail).

Day membership will be available for those who require them at a cost of £4 on each occasion up to a maximum of five occasions after which full membership must be taken.

For members of more than one club, I need to know which club you are paying membership through.

Any information passed to Greenacres is solely for their purpose with regard to curling matters and competitions.

Please let me know if you wish to play in a rink regularly or you wish to be reserve.

This letter will be followed with one from our Treasurer shortly but the information regarding fees etc is as follows:

My Mother club is:

Millport Curling Club Member £12.00

RCCC Membership £20.00

Greenacres membership (if applicable)

- Week day only £33.00

- Full £38.00

- Non Playing Membership £5.00

If anyone has any queries please contact myself or Richard Stokes, President

Best wishes,

Yours sincerely

Susan Forrest - Secretary

Summer BBQ

21st June 2019. Summer BBQ.

Alex and Susan hosted the annual summer BBQ on Friday (the longest day) with about 50 members of the club and spouses/partners. It was a great sunny evening and although the midges began to join in later on, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Many thanks, as always to Alex and Susan.

Silver Kettle.

11th March 2020. Last game of the season was for the Silver Kettle. Six teams walked out on to the ice today at Greenacres and played three five end games using the Schenkel system in a round robin. In the end Linn's team with Alex M and Susan (and for a while Patrick till his back went!) came out on top and Jimmy's team with Fergus, Jim H and Lesley took second place and the Crerar Medal. Well done all and congratulations on a great season. Many thanks to Greenacres Curling for hosting and catering.
