Argyll Quaich Feb. 2019
Well, MCC had a great stay at North West Castle in Stranraer again. many thanks to staff and management for looking after us so well especially Gail and her team for the ice. The Argyll Quaich was presented by the Argyll Province to the MCC in 1988 on the occasion of our 150th anniversary. This year, the 30th anniversary of the competition, the winning team led by Skip David Cameron with Ann Mapes, Max Sharp and Chris Reekie. It was a close run thing with Janie Cameron's team needing to beat David to have a chance of challenging his lead after two games, but it was not to be, with the 8 ends peeled giving David the necessary points. Well done David and everyone else who played over the two days For some pictures see Fixtures tab / Argyll Quaich..

Summer BBQ

21st June 2019. Summer BBQ.

Alex and Susan hosted the annual summer BBQ on Friday (the longest day) with about 50 members of the club and spouses/partners. It was a great sunny evening and although the midges began to join in later on, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Many thanks, as always to Alex and Susan.

Silver Kettle.
On Wednesday 13th March 2019, despite weather

warnings and the temporary suspension of ferry
services early in the morning, MCC managed to
reach Greenacres to compete for our final trophies of
the year - the Silver Kettle and the Crerar Medal. Six
teams, although several had to play with three
members only due to shortage of players, competed
in a round robin of two 5 end games before lunch
and a further 5 end game after. At the final count,
Dave, with Susan and Fraser carried off the Kettle
and David with Bill, Alison and Ron took the
Crerar Medal as runners up. Well done everyone, and
here's to September and the 2019/20 season. Many
thanks to Greenacres Curling staff for looking after
 us.
